The AI looks at the actual frame(s): is it a person, a vehicle, an animal, weather — or a genuine intruder? It returns a classification, confidence and a plain-English reason.
3 · Decide & cross-check
Known plates and expected callers are auto-cleared. Low-confidence frames go to a human, never an auto-dispatch. Real threats get a drafted talk-down line.
4 · Escalate correctly
The verdict drives the exact response for that customer's plan — notify, talk-down, ARC operator, police (URN) — with a timestamped incident report for evidence.

Do I have to set anything up or host the AI myself?+
No. Homeview runs Sentinel for you as part of your monitored plan — there's nothing to install, host, configure or maintain, and no per-alarm charges. It simply works with the cameras and alarms we fit.
What happens to my video footage — does it leave my property?+
It's never sold or shared. For privacy-sensitive sites and the NHS we can run the verification on-site, so your video never leaves your premises; otherwise only the single alarm frame is checked. Either way, you stay in control.
Can it tell a burglar from a delivery driver, a cat or the rain?+
Yes — that's the core job. Sentinel classifies each event as intruder, known-person, delivery, passer-by, vehicle, animal, weather or unknown, with a confidence score. Deliveries, pets, weather and recognised vehicles are auto-cleared, so you only hear about genuine threats.
What if the AI isn't sure?+
Low-confidence events are never auto-escalated. They're flagged for one of our operators to confirm first, and every verdict records its confidence — so the response is always honest and fully auditable.
Does it work with the cameras and alarms I already have?+
Yes. Sentinel layers on top of the cameras and alarms Homeview installs — when something triggers, the snapshot is checked automatically. There's no rip-and-replace and nothing new for you to fit.
